Deities, who were here for week-long Shivratri Festival, returned to their abode. Governor Acharya Devvrat was the chief guest on the concluding ceremony. He also took part in the deities procession, which was led by chief deity Madho Rai.

The Governor said: “The festival is celebrated every year and it holds a great significance.”

He added that it was the responsibility of every individual to eradicate social evils. He appealed to the youth to preserve the rich culture of the state.

The Governor also visited an exhibition organised by government departments and other organisations.

Deputy Commissioner, Mandi, and chairman, Mela Committee, Shri Rugved Thakur welcomed the Governor and briefed him about various activities that took place in the last seven days.

Power Minister Anil Sharma, MP Ram Swaroop Sharma, MLAs Col Inder Singh, Jawahar Thakur, chairperson, Nagar Parishad, Mandi, Suman Thakur, Superintendent of Police Gurdev Chand Sharma, and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
