Week-long Kullu Dasehra to be a gala affair

Kullu ADM Akshay Sood said cultural troupes and Bollywood singers would perform during the week-long Kullu Dasehra starting from October 8.

Singers Sonu Nigam, Swaroop Khan, Suresh Wadkar, Ninja,Jyotica Tangri, Kushal Pal and other star performers would entertain the audience at the Kala Kendra.

The ADM said an animated light and sound show would be held on cultural evening of October 12. On the last cultural evening on October 14, Himachali artistes would perform.

As many as 1,700 police personnel would be deployed during the festival. Between Bajaura and Ramshila, 106 CCTV cameras would be installed.

The ADM said extensive preparations were being made to organise the international folk dance festival and various events related to the traditions and culture of the state would be held. “This year, 330 deities have been invited for the festivities. Focus will be on maintaining cleanliness during the Dasehra festival,” Sood added.
