Heavy rain in Kullu has forced the district administration to sound an alert. The Beas is in spate.
The Pandoh dam authorities said that they could open floodgates of the dam anytime. As a result, the water level of the Beas might increase. To avoid any threat to human life, the Mandi administration has advised the people of the district and tourists to avoid venturing close to the Beas in the next few days.

Additional District Magistrate, Mandi, Shrawan Manta said water would be released from the Pandoh dam on August 18 from 12.30 am to 6.30 am on August 19.
Yesterday, a massive landslide occurred in the Gohar area of Mandi district. No loss of life was reported.
