NURPUR, AUGUST 23

The Nurpur police detained two persons and recovered nine protein supplement boxes with each box containing 46 sachets of loose capsules. A total of 39,700 capsules with an estimated market cost of Rs 5 lakh were seized at Indora Mor in Damtal last evening.

The accused, identified as Rakesh Kumar of Surjapur village in Indora and Avinash Rai of Sirat village, have been detained by the police for further investigation.

As per information, the accused had alighted from a bus, carrying two large-sized bags, when the police stopped them for checking.

Nurpur DSP Sahil Arora said a case under Sections 22, 61 and 85 had been registered the NDPS Act.

The capsules would be sent to the state forensic laboratory as they might contain a substance called Tramadol, he added.
