The police have arrested a tantric and his disciple for allegedly raping a woman who had gone to seek their help to cure her ailing son.
According to an FIR, the woman was taken to the Narag area, Sirmaur, in a car by the duo on the pretext of doing some ‘puja’ in a cremation ground on Sunday. She was forcibly taken to a house and repeatedly raped by the duo.
The woman, however, managed to flee through the bathroom window and took a lift from a passersby. She reported the matter to the police yesterday.
The victim said she had seen other women seeking similar remedies at the tantrik’s house which gave her the confidence. In order to make her believe that they would genuinely help her, the duo also bought some articles for ‘puja’ while going towards Narag.
The police arrested tantric Gian Chand (42) and his disciple Gian Prakash (56) from Kanah village, near Dhamkari, last evening. The accused was performing tantric activities when he was arrested. At least 50 persons were present there at that time.
