Swine flu claims another life in Tanda

A man from Dehra died of swine flu in Tanda medical college yesterday. He was the ninth victim this year.

Officiating Medical Superintendent, Tanda college, Dr Deepali Sharma today confirmed the death and said a man from Dehra was admitted to the hospital with the symptoms of H1N1. She said he was put on treatment and blood samples were sent for test. Before his report could reach, he died.

The first H1N1 patient, 65-year-old Joginder Kumar of Digger village of Dehra, was admitted to the hospital here and died on May 13 and since then nine patients died in the hospital. Dr Deepali said 31 swine flu patients were admitted to the hospital during the past four months of this year out of them nine died.

She said two women suffering from scrub typhus were admitted to the TMC yesterday. One woman belongs to Salooni, Chamba, and another from Nadaun.
