Minister for Rural Development and Animal Husbandry Virender Kanwar on Monday said the National Dairy Development Board had agreed to provide funding of Rs 10 crore for setting up a dry fodder production unit in the state.
Kanwar, who recently led a delegation to Gujarat for studying the diary development and water conservation activities said in an official communiqué that the board had also agreed to provide 10 bulls of Sahiwal breed to the state Department of Animal Husbandry to enhance the breed of cows. Kanwar said he was assured that Himfed would be given a market in the armed forces, para-military forces and the Indian Railways.
