State library inaugurated

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today inaugurated Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar State Library at Kennedy Chowk near Vidhan Sabha here today.

Constructed at a cost of about Rs 10 crore, the library has a total floor area of over 2,000 sqm with the seating capacity of 120 persons. Thakur said the library would have a collection of over 72,400 books for students, research scholars and general readers.

He said the state government was committed to providing quality education to the youth and the library was a step in this direction.

The Chief Minister said although the estimate of this building was Rs 15 crore, but it was completed in about Rs 10 crore for which the efforts of the PWD must be appreciated.

Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries present on the occasion.
