Spring fest begins at Kullu

The three-day state-level Spring Festival, earlier known as Pipal Jatra, got off to a colourful start here on Saturday with the welcome of local deity Gouhri Devta by Kullu Municipal Committee office-bearers.

Gopal Krishan Mahant, vice-president, Kullu MC, said Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur will inaugurate the cultural festivities at the Lal Chand Prarthi Kala Kendra at Dhalpur in the evening.

The vice-president said the traditional fairs and festivals preserved the rich cultural heritage. He said the local artistes would also get an opportunity to present their skill and competence in the festival.
