Shimla, August 20

A state-level “Shok Sabha” will be organised to pay homage to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on August 22 here and all political parties, religious and social organisations will participate in it, said BJP state chief Satpal Singh Satti here on Sunday.

Satti, who convened a special meeting at the party office, said BJP workers would invite all as everybody loved Atalji as a person.

Vajpayee was a statesman, journalist, poet, writer and politician and had great love for Himachal.

The ashes of Vajpayee would be immersed in all rivers.

“Atalji taught us to work for unity and took all political parties together like a family. He has made his place in the heart of Indians through his poetry,” Satti said, adding that Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna was his gift to the nation.

Meanwhile, Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj, who is also the Parliamentary Affairs Minister, said the meeting of the BJP legislative party would be held on August 22 under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur.
