Shimla, February 23

Vikramaditya Singh, son of former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, defended his father’s decision to open the SDM’s office at Janjehli and supported Janjehli Sangharsh Samiti (JSS) for its stir against the Jai Ram Thakur government.

“Janjehli protest is a trailer and if the present government continues to denotify institutions or offices opened by the previous government, the BJP government will have to face bigger protest “, Vikramaditya Singh warned, defending his father’s decision. The CM has talked about reviewing decisions of the Congress taken in six months time. This would set a wrong precedent, said Vikramaditya, who represents Shimla rural constituency.

The state government created a new sub-division at Thunag and a new sub-tehsil at Chhatri in Seraj and assured the people of Janjehli that the SDM would sit at Janjehli for four days. But the JSS-led by Jagdish Reddi, a Seraj Congress ticket- seeker, instead started the chain hunger strike in front of the SDM –cum-Tehsil office, Thunag.

Seraj BJP has come in support of Jai Ram Thakur government’s decision to open the SDM office at Thunag, which is a central place in Seraj constituency. The government is proposing to develop Janjehli as a tourist destination as it is a base camp for making beeline for Shikari Devi sanctuary, which is highest tourist spot of the Mandi district.
