RS Chauhan made HPU officiating VC

Pro Vice-Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) Prof R S Chauhan has been made the officiating Vice Chancellor on the completion of the term of Prof ADN Bajpai as VC.

Even as it was being expected that Prof Bajpai might be allowed to continue till the appointment of a new VC, the charge was given to Prof Chauhan today.

Prof Bajpai was appointed during the last BJP regime headed by PK Dhumal. He got a second term during the present Congress regime, which got over today.

Prof ADN Bajpai completed a six-year term as the VC today.

Prof Chauhan’s appointment hailed

Sundernagar: The Himachal Pradesh Aided College Teachers’ Association has congratulated Prof Rajender Singh Chauhan on being appointed as the officiating Vice Chancellor of the HP University, Shimla .

In a press release issued here today, president of the association CP Kaushal welcomed the decision of the H P Government to appoint Dr Chauhan as the officiating Vice Chancellor of the university. He said that Prof Chauhan has been associated with the university since long as a student, as a teacher and in various administrative capacities. Hence, he understands how to take the university forward in different fields. The association was hopeful that under the leadership of Prof Chauhan, the HP University would scale new heights and impart quality education to the students of Himachal Pradesh as per RUSA regulations.
