Shimla, December 3

The High Court has directed the state government to file a fresh status report on the four-laning of Pinjore-Baddi-Nalagarh stretch of the National Highway-21A.

During the course of hearing, it was brought to the notice of the court that the meeting of the Chief Secretaries of Haryana and Himachal with officials of the Ministry of Road, Transport and Highways, Government of India, had taken place and some alternative decisions were taken, which could be given effect only with the support of the state governments.

It was stated that a status report, along with minutes of the meeting held pursuant to order passed by the court, had been filed, but the same was not on record. On this, the Registry of the court was directed to find out the same and place on record.

After hearing the matter for some time, the court observed: “As pointed out, some alternative decisions were taken in the meeting of the Chief Secretaries of Haryana and Himachal with officials of the Union Ministry of Road, Transport and Highways. Let the follow-up action, if any, taken pursuant to those decisions be brought on record by way of a fresh status report.”

The court listed the matter for further hearing on December 19. — OC
