Governor Bandaru Dattatreya today paid a surprise visit to Government Senior Secondary School, Portmore. He interacted with the students of Class XII on various topics.

The Governor exhorted the girls to work hard, be disciplined and follow moral values to achieve success in life. The students were told to read the biographies of Mahatma Gandhi, Swami Vivekananda and former President Abdul Kalam. The Governor urged them to participate in social activities like cleanliness drives and practise yoga.

He also inspected the hostel, library and announced Rs 5 lakh for the school. The Governor said Rs 1 lakh would be given to the student, who would outshine private school students in exams.
