Congress state in-charge Rajni Patil exposed the alleged failures of the Central Government during the party’s Jan Chetna campaign at Chandi in the Doon constituency and Panjera in the Nalagarh constituency on Thursday.
She alleged that the Central Government had failed on all fronts and their poll promises had proved to be a sham.The aspirations of the youth had been defeated as they failed to get the promised two crore jobs in the five-year term of the BJP government. Rajni claimed that the people would give a befitting reply to the BJP in the ensuing Lok Sabha poll.
Patil said demonetisation and the GST had severally hit the economy of the country and lakhs of jobs had been lost. “The Modi government has done little to bring back blackmoney deposited in the foreign banks and has merely fooled the people over this issue. Even the key problem of terrorism has failed to be curtailed,” she alleged.
She claimed that the Congress was receiving an overwhelming support of the masses and they would win all four Lok Sabha seats in the state. Rajni, while talking about the local issues, said the much-needed export duty on imported apples had not been imposed and this had affected the orchardists of the state. Even the promised ST status to the trans-Giri area of Sirmaur had not been granted by the Union Government despite promising it to the people in the last Lok Sabha poll. She said the Congress, if voted to power, would provide a minimum income scheme to the people. She also assured that they would provide reservation to women.
She further alleged that the LPG price that was around Rs 350 during the tenure of the Congress had now increased to Rs 1,000. Fuel prices had also reached an all-time high, though the price of crude oil had almost halved during the NDA regime. The rising prices of the essential commodities had hit the common man hard.
Congress co-in-charge Gurkirat Singh Kotli and Solan MLA DR Shandil were also present.
