Mandi, January 11

Deputy Commissioner, Mandi, Rugved Thakur has directed health officials to pay special attention to malnourished children in the district.

He presided over a meeting of the district-level inter-departmental monitoring committee yesterday and took stock of the situation. The DC said nutritional supplements were being provided to 67,873 children in the age group of 0-5 years. He said under the Integrated Child Development Project, 35,822 children and 14,439 women would be provided supplements.

He directed the officials concerned to ensure that the target group was covered under the project. He ordered the construction of an anganwari centre within 15 days and said work at under-construction buildings be completed at the earliest. The DC told the officials that children should not be kept in unsafe buildings.
