The Pong Dam Oustees’ Samiti on Tuesday unanimously passed a resolution to file a petition in the High Court seeking its intervention in safeguarding the rights of the oustees and their rehabilitation.

During a state-level meeting at Jawali, which was presided over by samiti state president Hans Raj, problems related to the rehabilitation of the oustees were discussed at length.

Samiti members alleged that the oustees were being fooled by successive central and state governments since 1972.

Hans Raj alleged that despite an agreement, the oustees had not been allotted land in Rajasthan.

He alleged that some were allotted barren land on the Pakistan-Rajasthan border. The samiti president alleged that the state government had failed to address their issues.
