Mandi, December 17

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said the government would sympathetically consider legitimate demands of the pensioners as they had given their prime for the development of the state.

The Chief Minister was here at Sundernagar to attend the state-level Pensioners Day celebration function on the occasion of All-India Pensioner’s Day organised by the Pensioners Welfare Association.

It was due to the efforts of the employees that the policies and programmes of the state government could be implemented successfully.

Sundernagar MLA Rakesh Jamwal urged the Chief Minister to accept the long-pending demands of the pensioners.

HR Vishisht, president, State Pensioners Welfare Association, also detailed various demands of the association on the occasion. He urged the Chief Minister to do away with the 5-10-15 criteria for the pensioners.

Earlier, the Chief Minister was presented a cheque for Rs 14,38,400 by chairperson, AAPI Charitable Trust Dr Chander M Kapasi. The association also presented a cheque for Rs 1.25 lakh towards the Chief Minster Relief Fund.
