Nurpur: In a bid to disturb communal harmony, some miscreants chopped off parts of a dead cow in Nurpur on Wednesday. It was first noticed by RSS volunteers at Chogan here on Wednesday. The news of cow killing spread like a wildfire and local MLA Rakesh Pathania rushed from Shimla this morning. The ASP, ADC, Kangra, along with forensic science experts, also reached the spot. The forensic team, led by SK Paul, Assistant Director, Regional Forensic Science Laboratory, Dharamsala, examined the spot and collected evidences. The post-mortem examination of the cow disclosed that the cause of the death was consumption of polythene. SP Santosh Patial said the police had registered an FIR under Section 11 of the cruelty against animals Act and Sections 153 (A) and 429 of the IPC. OC
