Notices to encroachers

In compliance with the order of the High Court against encroachments on government land, the local revenue authorities on Monday swung into action and served notices on 85 encroachers, who had been running kiosks and vends on the Pathankot-Mandi national highway for the past many years.

Following the direction of Surinder Thakur, SDM, Nurpur, Des Raj Thakur, naib tehsildar, served the notices on the encroachers and gave them ultimatum to remove their encroachments within 24 hours. 

Meanwhile, the SDM said the kiosk owners and vendors had encroached the area surrounding the Chogan ground on the NH-154 and encroached land of the Sports and Youth Affairs Department, HP Government, Public Works Department, Municipal Council and the NHAI. — OC
