“Normal, of course, a little bit tired, but otherwise normal,” said the Dalai Lama when questioned about his health at the Gaggal airport in Kangra district on Wednesday afternoon.

The Tibetan spiritual leader arrived here after concluding his 11-day teaching tour of Baltic states.

He was received by speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel and representatives of various Tibetan NGOs.

During the 11-day European visit, the Dalai Lama gave teachings on Tsongkhapa’s In Praise of Dependant Origination (tendrel toepa), Diamond Cutter Sutra (dorjee chodpa) and White Manjushri empowerment to over 4,000 Baltic and Russian Buddhists in Riga, Latvia.

In Lithuania, he delivered lectures on “Human values in education” and “The art of happiness” at the universities of Vilnius and Siemens Arena.

The Dalai Lama also met eight members of Lithuanian Parliament, Lithuanian Parliamentary Tibet Group and supporters.

The Tibetan leader’s upcoming schedule includes a four-day teaching from September 4-7 at Tsuglagkhang on Buddhapalita’s Commentary on the Fundamental Wisdom of the Middle Way (drel-pa Buddhapalita). The teachings were requested by a group from Asia, including Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

On September 16, the Dalai Lama will deliver a public talk on “Why compassion is essential in our troubled world” at Ahoy Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

On September 17, he will give a teaching on Geshe Langri Thangpa’s “Eight Verses of Mind Training” (lojong tsik gyema) at Ahoy Rotterdam.

He will participate in a conference on “Non-Violence and Peace” in the morning at Congress Center, Darmstadtium, Germany, on September 19.

On September 21, the Dalai Lama will participate in a religious ceremony celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Tibet Institute Rikon in the morning at Tibet Institute Rikon, Switzerland.
