Sirmaur admn to launch cleanliness campaign

SOLAN: The district administration of Sirmaur will launch a cleanliness campaign ‘Ek Din School Ke Naam’ in about 1,000 summer closing schools of the district tomorrow where students will collect the littered polythene and dry waste for their further use in road construction and making poly bricks.

The district administration of Sirmaur will launch a cleanliness campaign ‘Ek Din School Ke Naam’ in about 1,000 summer closing schools of the district tomorrow where students will collect the littered polythene and dry waste for their further use in road construction and making poly bricks.

Deputy Commissioner, Sirmaur, Dr RK Pruthi, will launch the campaign from government senior secondary school, Moginand. This eight-day campaign will be implemented on every 1st and 4th Saturday from December 2019 to March 2020 where two hours would be devoted for this purpose by the students of classes above 5, eco clubs, scouts and guides, NSS and NCC students.

He said under this campaign, defaulters would also be identified and made aware of the significance of cleanliness. The defaulters would be fined if they continued littering. Apart from this, the land will also be identified for sapling plantation and developing theme parks to enhance the green cover in the district.

Teachers will supervise this campaign in a 500 m area around the school premises. Those appearing for pre-board exams would be exempted from the drive.
