A meeting of the HP Secretariat Services Sports Control Board (HPSSSCB) was held under the chairmanship of senior vice-president of the board Dr RN Batta to review the arrangements of All-India Civil Services Kabaddi Tournament to be held at Government Degree College, Kotshera, from November 15 to 19

Dr Batta said the tournament was being held for the first time in Himachal and Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, patron-in-chief of the sports board, would be the chief guest at the inaugural function. Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj and Youth Services and Sports Minister Govind Singh Thakur would be guests of honour.

“As many as 40 to 45 teams from across the country comprising 600 to 700 participants will take part in the event. About 15 to 20 matches will be held every day and the final will be on November 19,” he said.

Observers from the Centre would attend the event. “An information centre would be set up at the venue for those who wish to visit nearby tourist places,” Dr Batta stated. — TNS
