DC tells depts to curb drug menace among youth

Deputy Commissioner Amit Kashyap today chaired a meeting of officials regarding the preparations for anti-drugs month to be organised from November 15 to December 15. He called upon the health, police and education departments to ensure better coordination among themselves to curb the menace among the youth.

Kashyap asked the health officials to raise awareness among the youth about the ill-effects of drug abuse and the breakdown of family values in modern times. He urged them to sensitise parents and their wards to root out this evil from society.

The DC stressed the importance of the counselling of parents and their children for a humane and integrated society. ADC Apurva Devgan, ADM (Law and Order) Prabha Rajeev, ADM (Protocol) Naresh Thakur and CMO Dr Jitender Chauhan attended the meeting. — TNS
