The alarm has been sounded in the areas surrounding the Yamuna with the river flowing above the danger mark.

Dr RK Pruthi, DC, said the people residing in the vicinity of the Yamuna in Paonta Sahib had been directed not to venture near the river. Two youngsters, who were stuck, trying to take selfies amid the overflowing Yamuna, were saved by the local administration. One person was killed and three houses were damaged in the torrential rain which lashed various parts of the district. Truck driver Pradeep Kumar was killed in a road accident near Dilman in Narag sub-tehsil.

A house at Bhatgad village in Renukaji suffered damage due to landslide. Residents of the house were shifted.

Houses of Tulsi Devi in Sangrah and of Kabir Dass, a resident of Narag sub-tehsil, suffered damage while another house in Shillai sub-division was washed away. As many as 93 roads were blocked or damaged. JCBs are clearing the roads. —TNS
