VC flags off yatra to Vasuke Nag temple

DHARAMSALA: The tourism department of Central University Himachal Pradesh (CUHP) on Friday launched a yatra to Vasuke Nag temple in the Bhadarwah area of Kashmir. Kuldeep Agnihotri, VC, of the university, flagged off the yatra from Dharamsala at 7 am.

The tourism department of Central University Himachal Pradesh (CUHP) on Friday launched a yatra to Vasuke Nag temple in the Bhadarwah area of Kashmir. Kuldeep Agnihotri, VC, of the university, flagged off the yatra from Dharamsala at 7 am.

The tourism department has started a yatra to promote religious tourism in Chamba and the remote Bhadarwah area. “I hope that the endeavour of the tourism department will help in reviving the yatra that can increase economic activity in Chamba and the Bhadarwah areas,” the VC said.

The yatra after starting from Dharamsala would complete 8-hour journey to Bharadwah on Friday. Many people from Dharamsala and surrounding areas had registered for it. The yatra will halt in Bhadarwah for the night. In the morning after praying at the temple, it would return. — TNS
