Over 400 attend camp on disaster management

KANGRA: The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) on Tuesday organised an awareness camp on disaster management at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Naleti village, in Dehra subdivision.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) on Tuesday organised an awareness camp on disaster management at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Naleti village, in Dehra subdivision.

NDRF officials created awareness on school safety, capacity building and rescue operation through different methods. Students were imparted training on how to face natural calamities, including earthquake and floods.

The officials said since Kangra district was in seismic zone V, residents should be prepared to face any eventuality.

Principal Swati Aggrawal lauded the role of the NDRF in creating awareness among students and teachers on disaster management.

More than 400 persons, including residents, attended the programme.

Meanwhile, the NDRF also organised a similar camp at Govt Senior Secondary School, Paragpur. Students and teachers were given disaster management tips.
