Man killed as car falls into gorge

SOLAN: One person was killed when his car fell into a 600-ft-deep gorge, near Subathu, late last evening. The deceased was identified as Kuber Chand (32), a resident of Ribin in Kunihar.

One person was killed when his car fell into a 600-ft-deep gorge, near Subathu, late last evening.

The deceased was identified as Kuber Chand (32), a resident of Ribin in Kunihar.

The accident took place when he was coming from Kuthar. He was the only occupant in the car. Although the police was informed about the accident last evening only, darkness acted as a deterrent in retrieving the body.

A search was initiated in the morning by the police and fire staff and the body was retrieved from the gorge.

It was stuck between rocks. The cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained.

The post-mortem examination has been conducted. A case has been registered and further investigations are underway.
