Narkanda gets light snow

Shimla: The famous tourist resort of Narkanda had a light snowfall for the first time in the season and Kufri and Fagu received snowflakes while several places in lower, mid and higher hills had scattered rain.

Shimla: The famous tourist resort of Narkanda had a light snowfall for the first time in the season and Kufri and Fagu received snowflakes while several places in lower, mid and higher hills had scattered rain. 

The day temperature dropped from 27.4 degree at Una yesterday to 16.6 degree, a fall of 11 degrees while the mercury dropped by five to seven degree at other places to stay at 22.5 degree at Nahan, 18.5 degree at Solan, 15.2 degree at Sundernagar, 14.8 degree at Dharamsala and 14.2 degree at Bhuntar, followed by Shimla 14 degree, Kalpa 13.8 degree, Manali 11 degree and Keylong 4.8 degree C.

Dalhousie in Chamba district received 25 mm rain while Dharamsala and Kangra had 14.2 mm and 11 mm rain, followed by Chamba 4 mm, Shimla and Kufri 2mm.

There was a marginal rise in the minimum temperatures and Kalpa in tribal Kinnaur district recorded night temperature at zero degree. The local Met Department has warned of heavy rain and snow at isolated places in mid and higher hills  in the next three days up. — TNS

Dainkund peak gets 10-cm snow

Dalhousie: Dainkund, located at a height of about 2,750 metres, the highest peak of Dalhousie hills, received  10 centimetres of snow. According to a report , the first snow of the season at Dainkund has encouraged many to the hill station.— OC
