Shimla, October 4

Union minister J P Nadda will inaugurate an Air India flight between Chandigarh and Kullu from the Union Territory tomorrow.

With the introduction of this flight, Kullu, also known as the Valley of Gods, will be connected to Chandigarh as well as Delhi.

On the occasion, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha will be the guest of honour and Lok Sabha MP Ram Swaroop Sharma, MLAs from Kullu and Manali, Maheshwar Singh and Govind Singh Thakur, would also be present.

Nadda said as the hill state was a major tourist destination for foreign tourists, it was very critical for Himachal Pradesh to have a robust state-of-the-art air connectivity.

The minister said adequate connectivity and affordable airfare were two critical issues confronting the effectiveness of aviation sectors in the state.

He said the central government was making concerted efforts to improve road, rail and air infrastructure in the state so that it could emerge as one of the best tourist destinations globally and also to increase business and employment avenues in a big way. — PTI
