Minister opens inter-polytechnic sports meet

Vikram Singh, Minister for Industries, Labour and Employment, Technical Education, Vocational & Industrial Training today opened the 23rd Inter- Polytechnic sports meet (boys and girls) at the complex of Government Polytechnic, Sundernagar.

Official sources said more than 500 participants from 15 polytechnics of the state would take part in the five-day event.

While addressing the gathering on the occasion, he said the state government was providing all facilities to players so that they could take part in all national and international-level competitions. He asked the players to take part in any sports in a disciplined manner. He said the government was proposing to make some changes in the sports policy of the state so that the players would get more opportunities at the international level.

Earlier, he laid the foundation stone of a building at the complex of Industrial Training Institute (for disabled), Sundernagar. He was accompanied by local MLA Rakesh Jamwal and other BJP workers on the occasion.
