The local Meterological Department has predicted rain or snow in the region for November 1 and 2.

Rain or thunderstorm is likely at isolated places in the lower and mid hills and rain or snow in the higher hills on November 1 and 2, as a fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayan region from October 30, said director, local Met office, Manmohan Singh.

The high altitude tribal areas are reeling under piercing cold wave conditions, as minimum temperature is staying between minus 5°C and minus 10°C, while Keylong and Kalpa in tribal Lahaul and Spiti and Kinnaur districts recorded a low of minus 1.5°C and 1.2°C. The key tourist resort of Manali recorded a minimum temperature at 2.6°C, followed by Bhuntar 5.4°C, Sundernagar 6.7°C, Solan 7°C, Shimla 9.6 °C, Palampur 10.5°C, Dharamsala 10.7°C, Una 10.7°C and Nahan 11.8°C, two to three degree below normal. — TNS
