With the problem of low voltage plaguing various villages of the Nalagarh industrial area, members of Zila Parishad today raised this issue at their monthly meeting held here today.

The issue of low voltage at Majri village in the Dhabota and Gariyach village in the Shantron panchayat was raised by the members where they urged the officials of the HP State Electricity Board to rectify the problems as the villagers were facing immense hardship.

While the officials informed that the Dhabota area had been joined with the 250 kva sub-station as against the earlier sub-station of 100 kva and the power lines had been strengthened, the area of Gariyach would have to wait for a suitable budgetary provision in the next five year plan.

Lack of bus availability in various rural routes, problems pertaining to insufficient water for irrigation, drinking and non-functional bore wells were also raised by the members. While members wanted bore wells at places like Danghil, where a report of the hydrologist was awaited, in other places like Kashmirpur, the bore well had become non-functional and members pressed for its repair.

Exposing the poor state of basic amenities like water, the members raised issues like incomplete irrigation scheme at Satrol Kashi and the absence of potable water scheme for certain hamlets of Karsoli gram panchayat and non-functional hand pumps. Issues like paucity of funds for repairing various rural roads were also raised by the members where commuters suffered owing to poor condition of roads.
