Shimla, October 18

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today admitted that Uttarakhand was ahead of Himachal in industrialisation and attracting investment and MoUs worth Rs 60,000 crore were signed at a recent mega investors meet in Uttarakhand but the Congress had no moral right to raise this issue.

“The Congress did nothing during the last five years but the BJP government has taken several initiatives to boost investment and results will be visible soon,” he said.

Maintaining that Uttarakhand had several advantages like much better air and rail connectivity, larger area and more population whereas Himachal had a limited railway network and air connectivity, hampering industrial growth.

A network of helipads was being created to launch heli-taxi services and besides launching the service from Manali to Rohtang, another helipad near Sanjauli in Shimla was nearing completion. The state government was procuring more choppers for starting heli-taxi services to major tourist destinations, he added.
