KANGRA: The in-laws were booked for abetment to suicide after a housewife (32) committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan in her residential house at Natherd village near here on Saturday, police said today.

The in-laws were booked for abetment to suicide after a housewife (32) committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan in her residential house at Natherd village near here on Saturday, police said today.

Police said that Simpy, who married Avinash in Natherd village a few years back, committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan in her room. Police was informed who took the body into custody and sent it for the postmortem. The police said that on the complaint of the mother of the victim a case under section 498 A and 306 IPC has been registered against her husband Avinash and his mother.

Police said the body was today handed over to her in-laws for last rites and arrested Avinash. — OC
