Inspector General of Police (IG) ZH Zaidi, who was booked in the custodial death case of Suraj, one of the six persons arrested by the Special Investigation team (SIT), who died in the police custody in Kotkhai on the night of July 18, has been allowed to visit his residence for filing IT returns.

Zaidi, who made a plea to file his income tax returns in the special CBI court, has been allowed to visit his home subject to the condition that he would be taken to his residence in tight security and the process of filing of returns should be completed before July 13.

Zaidi had pleaded that his Aadhar card and document related to income tax had been kept at his government residence at Brockhurst and the place where the documents were kept was known only to him and sought permission to visit his residence and his Charterd Account at Kasumpti.

The court has directed the Superintendent of Kanda jail to make arrangements for taking Zaidi to his home for filing of returns. Nine police officers were booked and arrested in custodial death case and are in judicial custody.
