Locals, numbering thousands also raised slogans against the government for shielding the "real culprits", who were allegedly "well connected".

The police claim of solving the case has being questioned with too many missing links in the story involving disappearance, rape and killing of the 16-year-old girl. Tension griped the area as the mob threatens to set the police station on fire.  The SDM and the SP refused to come out of the police station fearing public fury.

Meanwhile, IG Zahur Zaidi, who was heading the case, proceeded on a leave today.

Shimla SP D W Negi was also roughed up by the mob.

A huge mob has gathered outside Ripon Hospital in Shimla where five of the rape accused are being brought for medical.

The accused is yet to be brought, but the mob is ready to lynch and thrash them.

Huge police force is deployed outside the hospital to avert law and order problem.
