A Gujarat pilgrim died during the Shrikhand Mahadev yatra in Kullu district on Sunday night.

The deceased was identified as Rajender Kumar, 55.
He was undertaking the yatra along with his wife and son in the region.
He was moved along with his family from Singhad towards Thachru on Sunday and he collapsed near Thachru due to cardiac arrest around midnight.
The 35-km-long trek towards Shrikhand Mahadev from Nirmand is considered one of the toughest pilgrimages, which ends at a height of 18,000 feet above sea level.
Due to high altitude of the area, the journey is risky for physically unfit people.
SDM Ani Chet Singh said a police team had been moved towards Thachru to bring back the body to the Nirmand hospital, where the post-mortem will be conducted.
”It is expected that till evening the body would be brought here and after post-mortem it will be handed over to the family. Arrangements will be made to transport the body to his native place,” he added.
It is the first death reported this year during Shrikhand Mahadev yatra, which was officially flagged off on Sunday from Singhad base camp in Kullu district.
