Food and Civil Supplies Minister Kishan Kapoor on Sunday said a grievance redress unit had been set up at the state headquarters and people could register their complaints via email or mobile number.

He said ration-card holders were provided three pulses, mustard and refined oil and salt at subsidised rates under the public distribution system (PDS).

“Sugar, wheat flour and rice are also being provided under the PDS at subsidised rates and the rate of pluses has been reduced by Rs 5 which has benefitted all consumers in the state,” he said.

He said in case consumers did not get these items from the PDS shops, they could lodge a complaint on mobile number 82199-29241 and email ID complaint@himapurti.com.

“As many as 77.20 lakh consumers are getting cheap ration through 4,937 ration depots in the state and Rs 220 crore has been earmarked for the purpose this year,” he said.

The department has also launched its own app and consumers can download it on their android mobile phones through Google play store. A toll-free number, 1967, has also been started. They can register their complaints related to ration card, LPG and kerosene on this number.

Kapur said around 88.6 per cent ration card holders had been linked to Aadhar card which had helped in checking misuse of ration cards and transparency had been maintained under the public distribution system.
