Shimla, May 21

The CPM, the BSP and independents candidates from the state have termed the exit polls as “highly fraught with error” and “melodramatic”.

CPM senior leader and Theog MLA Rakesh Singha said the exit polls followed certain scientific parameters. However, there were chances of errors in the results.

Singha said," The exit polls in many countries have had gone haywire on several occasions. This time too there is a chance that these are wrong."

BSP state president Kehar Singh said the party had rejected the exit poll results as these were "biased and were in favour of the BJP".

“It is a melodrama created by certain pollsters, which is not good for democracy," he said.

Independent candidate from Mandi Mehar Singh alleged that the exit polls and the media had been highlighting only the BJP, which had used huge money in the elections to influence the voters.
