Delhi tourist killed near Sach Pass

CHAMBA: A tourist from Delhi was killed while the driver of Innova (PB-11-CB-9474), in which they were travelling in, suffered injuries when it fell into a gorge near Satrundi on the Chamba-Killar (Pangi) highway, about 108 km from Chamba on Tuesday.

A tourist from Delhi was killed while the driver of Innova (PB-11-CB-9474), in which they were travelling in, suffered injuries when it fell into a gorge near Satrundi on the Chamba-Killar (Pangi) highway, about 108 km from Chamba on Tuesday. Other six occupants of the car escaped unhurt.

Chamba SP Monika Bhutungru said on Wednesday that there were eight persons in the car, including the driver, who had come from Delhi for visiting the Sach Pass. Police officials of the Satrundi check-post conducted the rescue operation, she said.

The deceased had been identified as Mukesh Mittal (45) of Delhi while Tirath Singh, the car driver, was admitted to hospital.

The SP further said other occupants of the car who were safe included Sushma Mittal, Deepak Gupta, Anchal Gupta, Ishita Mittal, Aman Mittal and Ishan Gupta.
