DC: Land for sainik bhawan identified

CHAMBA: Chamba DC Harikesh Meena said land for the construction of a sainik community bhawan had been identified at Banikhet. It would be transferred to the Himachal Pradesh Sainik Welfare Department soon, he added.

Chamba DC Harikesh Meena said land for the construction of a sainik community bhawan had been identified at Banikhet. It would be transferred to the Himachal Pradesh Sainik Welfare Department soon, he added.

At a meeting of the Zila Sainik Board, the DC said the work would start as sson as the land would be transferred.

Speaking about the mobile hospital under the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), the DC said it would become operational only if 1,200 ex-servicemen got themselves registered under the scheme. The ECHS hospital is being run frrom the office of the District Welfare Board in Chamba.

Meena said there were around 4,000 ex-servicemen in the district. On the delay in pension, the DC urged the ex-servicemen to get their correct addresses notified so that they did not have to face any problem.

Meena underscored the need of maintaining a record of ex-servicemen tehsil-wise.
