The Congress today lodged a complaint with the Election Commission of India (ECI) regarding the posting of the DC, Bilaspur, which is part of the Hamirpur Lok Sabha segment, where the officer was registered as a voter.

Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) general secretary Rajneesh Khimta accused the BJP regime of posting officials at prominent places where they could influence the voters. “We demand that the DC should be posted out as he is the voter of the Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat,” he stated.

There were many instances where the ruling BJP had posted officers of their choice to influence the voters. “We are receiving several complaints of officers close to the BJP being given sensitive and important postings and we urge the ECI to act upon this,” he urged.

Khimta also requested the ECI to look into all complaints made by the Congress so that no party could take undue benefit, especially the ruling BJP which was misusing official machinery to woo the voters.
