CM refuses maroon cap

“Cap politics” takes centre stage in Himachal again as Virbhadra declined to don the maroon Himachali cap at a function where he shared dais with Nadda here today. 

 As Health and Family Welfare Minister Kaul Singh Thakur honoured the CM with a shawl and maroon cap, Virbhadra accepted the shawl but refused to don the cap, identified with his political arch rival and former CM PK Dhumal. 

Though Virbhadra had removed his green Bushairi cap off his head to wear a cap, the moment he saw its colour, he just kept it away with much disdain. This created a very awkward moment for Kaul Singh as he too was perplexed at the CM’s reaction. Normally, all Congress MLAs and leaders wear green Bushairi caps while Dhumal and his MLAs wear maroon caps. — TNS
