Mandi, January 11

The Kullu administration has come to the rescue of women in distress. Deputy Commissioner Yunus Khan on Friday inaugurated a one-stop centre at the working women hostel in Kullu to shelter such women and provide them with basic facilities.

The DC visited in Kharahal valley to meet two women — Deepa and Sharda. Deepa lost her husband five months ago, while Sharda lost hers a year back. They were the sole bread-earners of the families.

The DC provided blankets and food to the families. He directed officials to fill in applications for Deepa and Sharda so that they could get government aid. Those who need help can call on 01902-222105 and 01902-225233. — OC
