After three months, the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has restored the Tandi-Udaipur road to traffic in Lahaul-Spiti.
It will enable residents of the Udaipur region to avail transport facility between Udaipur and Keylong. These had been cut off since December because the area had received a heavy snowfall, which blocked the road.
Locals said Tandi is 40 km from Udaipur. The relentless efforts of the BRO had proved successful which connected the road in a short period. Most link and main roads are under a thick layer of snow these days.
Official sources told The Tribune that the BRO and Public Works Department were under pressure to open all roads before the elections. it would be of great help for voters to cast vote.
Deputy Commissioner Ashwani Kumar Chaudhari said the BRO and PWD authorities had engaged its workforce and machinery to open the roads before the elections.
