Solan, February 19

The body of Avdesh Shahi, an accounts manager of Ultra Tech Cement, who had gone missing on February 13 in the Bagha area of the Arki sub-division, was found from a gorge.

Desh Raj Guleria, SHO, Bagha, said the police had launched an extensive search operation ever since he was reported missing by his family, six days ago. He had gone to visit a local temple at Katpol after which he did not return.

He hailed from Gopalgunj district of Bihar. His body was identified with the help of his clothes and shoes. Though his family and company staff tried to find him, he could not be found.

It took the police team led by Vidya Chand Negi, DSP (headquarters), two and a half hours to reach the spot where his beheaded body was found lying. A team of forensic science experts also visited the spot to lift forensic evidence.

The post-mortem examination of the body will be conducted by a team of experts, though no foul play was being suspected, informed Guleria. He said the actual cause of the death would be known only after the post-mortem and forensic experts’ reports were out.
