Hamirpur, September 13

Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee spokesman Prem Kaushal today claimed that the corruption charges leveled against the state BJP government in a letter that recently went viral on the social media had confirmed the Congress’ allegations.

“The letter proves that a section of the BJP leaders is not satisfied with the current regime and wants to destabilise the government,” he said, adding that it was surprising that instead of verifying the corruption charges, the investigating agencies had initiated a probe against those who leveled the charges.

“How can you expect people to be happy when the leaders of the ruling party are at loggerheads? The revolt in the BJP has come to fore,” Kaushal said, adding that with the induction of Anurag Thakur in the Union Ministry, his father and ex-CM Prem Kumar Dhumal had amplified his political activities that could put CM Jai Ram Thakur in trouble.

“If the imbroglio continues, the BJP may face vertical split and the state may face early polls,” he added. — OC
