Acting Chief Justice Dharam Chand Chaudhary yesterday inaugurated an alternative dispute resolution centre in Bilaspur.

Justice Chaudhary, who is the patron-in-chief and the executive chairman of the State Legal Services Authority, said the infrastructure at the Centre was worth more than Rs 3 crore. “The centre is equipped with all amenities to make it convenient for the litigants to access the mechanism of alternate dispute resolution,” he said.

Justice Vivek Thakur and Justice Jyotsna Rewal Dua were also present on the occasion.

Justice Chaudhary said the centre was meant for the resolution of disputes that had come to the court by means of mediation, arbitration, conciliation and lok adalat.

In his address, he said in Himachal Pradesh, a large number of court cases were being resolved through lok adalats, mediation and conciliation.
