Army man held for assaulting girl

Mandi, September 11

Army man Om Prakash of Bathaan village assaulted a 10-year-old girl, daughter of his sister-in-law, with a sharp-edged weapon at Balh in Mandi district last night. The accused and his wife had a marital dispute and she was living with her parents whose house was in the same village. The accused asked the girl about his wife but she ignored him, police said.

On this, the accused assaulted the victim with a sharp-edged weapon on her neck. Her family rushed her to medical college at Nerchowk. The girl was stated to be out of danger. — TNS
